Bladder cancer affects the lining of the bladder and requires prompt medical attention. Signs to look for include blood in the urine, frequent urination and pain during urination.
Diagnosing and treating people with bladder cancer is my main area of sub-special interest in the NHS. I perform cystoscopy, transurethral resection of bladder tumour ("TURBT") and intravesical Mitomycin instillation. I spend much of the working week at The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust where I am a core member of the regional specialist bladder MDT and am part of the surgical team performing robot-assisted radical cystectomy.
