Urinary symptoms such as stress incontinence and bladder overactivity can significantly impact daily life. Stress incontinence involves unintentional urine leakage during activities like coughing or lifting, while bladder overactivity causes a sudden, intense urge to urinate.
There are a variety of ways of investigating and managing urinary symptoms. Urodynamics (see below) can be helpful in clarifying the diagnosis. I have access to pelvic floor physiotherpy and whilst bladder overactivity usually improves with medication, I have performed Botox injections with great success in a great many patients, and have even performed it on television.
